The bunker was the last place a detainee would have wanted to go. These dark, isolated rooms, with sometimes no furniture, beds or whatsoever, only a bucket for the personal needs were mainly inhabited by the political prisoners. There were 33 cells and some of the detainees were kept here for more then a year. Others, only for days until after the interrogation (which was always accompanied by torture and physical abuse). Most of them here, were transferred at Mauthausen to be executed.
